LIZZY BORDEN
By Travis Hall
Review:
It has been 7 years since a
Lizzy Borden release and he is back and better than ever. The album was
produced by Borden himself and drummer Joey Scott. It was mixed by Erik
Rutan of Hate Eternal/Ex-Morbid Angel fame. The album is heavier than his
previous outing 2000's Deal With The Devil but this is not a bad thing. It
just gives more to the Lizzy Borden sound. There is tons of guests on the
album including George Lynch (Ex-Dokken/Lynch Mob), Dave Meniketti (Y&T),
Corey Beaulieu (Trivium), Jonas Hansson (Silver Mountain), Erik Rutan
(Hate Eternal/Ex-Morbid Angel), Michael T. Ross (Angel/Hardline), Adam
Cameron, Zane, and Marliese Quance. The production is outstanding and is
up there with 1989's Master Of Disguise. Like all past Lizzy Borden
recordings, Appointment With Death is a conceptual piece. The concept as
implied by the title is Death. This album is an album all generations of
Lizzy Borden fans will love and I recommend picking it up.
