Winner:

Hi,

I saw your post on the Sludge Boards.
I do visit your site from time to time ( usually after a Tampa area show to see if you went and what you thought about the show)
I saw you at the Pearcy show up at Bourbon Street last time he was in town.

So your looking for someone to tell you why they should win free tickets and backstage
passes to the Ratt /  Poison / V.O.J. show in Tampa at the end of the month..

Guess I'll give it a go....

In the mid 80's I moved to the bay area.
I was sort of lost on a fast path to self destruction.
In 87 me and some friends went to a what turned out to be a life changing event for me.
Poison and Ratt played the Oakland Coliseum.
I was without a girlfriend at the time ( it showed I was a real mess) so one of my friends set me up with a friend's sister.
I didn't really know it was a setup at the time and later I found out she was 14 or 15.
I was 24 at the time.
I was not very pleased with my friend.
Needless to say my "date"and I really didn't have much in common and we just didn't hit it off.
She was bored and I was more interested in the bands than her.
She did have an older sister that kinda went along as a chaperone.

Little did I know that 20 years later that the older sister and I would still be together.
I guess that concert was responsible  for making me the person I am today.
If wasn't for my wife's strength and encouragement over the last 20 years there's no telling what kind of state I'd be in today.
To this day when we are with friends hanging out and Ratt or Poison come on the stereo we always bore them with our tale of how a Rock-N-Roll show changed our lives forever.
We both have a love for music and REALLY love the Sleaze / Glam / Hard Rock stuff from back in the day along with the new wave of bands coming out of Scandinavia that are bringing back the ROCK.

Some of our favorite new bands are Vains of Jenna, Crashdiet, Babylon Bombs, Hardcore Superstar, Turbo Negro

We try to make as many shows as possible and support the bands that are still out there doing their thing.
I would love to win this contest so that I can surprise my wife as a thank you to her for all the years of putting up with my crap.

It would be a real hoot for the both of us to experience and share.
Who knows you may be responsible for another 20 years.
We live in Venice Fl.
Getting to the show is not a problem.
Cell phone is not a problem.

Doing an interview for your site would be a dream come true.
I've rambled on long enough
Thanks for reading my entry
Hoping I win!!!

Biron

Stephen Pearcy
Top Fuel Entertainment T-Shirts..
I have 2 girls T's
And one regular 2 shirt..

I should win because the last time I saw Stephen Pearcy was at a Ratt Concert.  I was standing in the front row at a general admission concert.  The crowd was pushing and shoving.  It was very hot and I was being smashed into the crowd control barrier.  I must have looked like I was going to passout!  Stephen Pearcy reached down and asked if I was 'ok'.  It was 1984. - Kristensen

I just need it-just like a day without music is like a day without sunshine-that is how I'm needing the shirt. I mean , how freggin cool is it??? I'm a girl so hopefully by the time u get this u wouldn't have given them away.
-Shits and Giggles Mel

I believe I should win the Stephen Pearcy T-Shirt because I have been a hardcore Stephen Pearcy/ratt/ arcade fan since I was a little kid. I saved my allowance for 3 weeks just so I could buy the Ratt Detonator album. I own every album he has ever released and albums he only made an appearance on like the AC/DC, Van Halen and Aerosmith Tribute cds. I skipped school the day the first Arcade album came out just so I could be the first person at the record store to buy it. and last but not least in June when Stephen played club Infinity here in Buffalo for the "Live in Buffalo" dvd I got up at 8am so I could be the first to get my ticket the day they went on sale. besides I have never won anything in my life. thanks for reading this and please let me win. - Dave Taylor

8 Days Gone Shirts, Posters, c.d.'s

About a year ago I met this really great guy on the deck of some bar at the beach.  He talked me into coming inside and giving his band a chance, so when the band began their final set for the night, I went inside to check it out.  Before the end of the first song I was hooked.  I was completely mesmerized by the way the music just flowed and how effortless this guy made playing the guitar look.  From that day on I made it a point to see him play at least once every week.  Then he had a great opportunity to go record with a new band and I haven't seen him play since...I think his name was Steve Miceli. ;)  Listening to my EDG cd is hazardous because I can't concentrate on anything but the music.  The album rocks...but I need a SHIRT so I can support the best damn band to hit the scene! - VP ~

EDG rocks and so do you for sending me this poster!
Except for when I get the guys to sign it, it's never coming off my wall!
Thanks again,
Val (the one in the middle)

I think I should win because I think the band is really good, and I been following these guys since the 90"s.That was even before EDG was born. Also I really tell a lot of people about the band and let them here it, It seems like a good turn on for most people. They go a long way from Inhibitor speed music. Plus I know Neil and John, I think I need to wear the shirt to show people what real music is. - Joseph Spiotta

The Reason Why you should give The 8 days gone Cd is Because I don't really have anything too.  I'm sick of the crap that's on the radio.  I've been listening to Bret Michaels and Jani Lane.  I would love to check out a new band - John

I want to win an Eight days gone t-shirt to have framed and hung in my home
as a tribute to all of the blood and sweat that has been put into this bands
accomplishments.  My family and I are their biggest fans and have seen what
these remarkable individuals have gone through to make their dreams a
reality.  I want my children to be inspired to never give up, and anything
is possible if they work hard and believe in themselves and what they are
doing.  My love to Eight days Gone.  We are so proud of you! -Love, Susan

Dope T-Shirt, Sticker, or c.d.
Hey,
I want to win because I have been a true dope fan since 1997. I have everyone of their cd's including demos from before felons. I have seen Dope in concert more then 40 times, I just recently got a Dope tattoo on my whole left forearm, I plan to get a whole Dope sleeve on my right arm, I will be getting more done to it for next month, I am going to enter my work in a contest at the Atlantic city, N.J. tattoo convention. I just love getting the word out about Dope and I think that Dope art on my arm and back is one of the best ways, my forearm tat already gets a lot of attention. I just think I should win because I have been true to Dope since day one, and now I am branded for life with the ink of Dope!
-Kev

As for myself, Dope's music can be comparable to the most powerful drugz. Their inflammatory performance and aggressive heavy songs make me addictive and unable to get enough even after billions of times. No matter from which aspect you judge Dope, they always look unique and brilliant.
But what really fires up my absolute love of Dope is their strong faith. Dope's philosophy is basically freedom for all. They will fight to the death for their friends and beliefs. In some sense, they overthrow my previous value and concepts. Growing up in the conventional country China, I was regarded as the so-called rebel in others' eyes. My response to their misunderstanding is simply same as the lyrics of Dope, Fuck you I am what I am! I firmly believe Dope philosophy's gonna fuel me with high energy and motivation in my future. At least it's a healthy way for me to take out my anger and frustrastion over life. Those who treat Dope as a trash band are not only superficial but also ignorant!! How to save these pretentious people? I venture to say all they need is ju! st Group Therapy!!
So now is the time for me to demand this prize pack. I am desperately looking forward to winning it. - Reeves Chen (China)

We Wish You a Hairy Christmas c.d. (All hairbands doing X-Mas songs)

Please consider me to be one of the winners of "We Wish You a Hairy Christmas" for one simple reason. In 1993 all of my hair fell out! Due to what I believe as years of over exposure to Aqua Net Hairspray (Extra Super Hold..white and pink can). It has been a long court battle with Aqua Net, still with no payoff. This CD may help ease the pain this Christmas .
Thanks   \m/
- Mike Holubec

I would like to win...basically since I wish I still had the hair I did back in the days...since that won't happen anymore I am basically only able to relive those years by listening to the bands I really enjoyed. Most of the bands on this compilation I have the majority of their collections, and would love to get all these wonderful Christmas songs on 1 CD....oh, and also so I don't have to listen to those damn shitty CD's my wife like....ick!!
- Jeremy Anderson

Superfine Unsound c.d. (Former Kik Tracee Bassiest)

Ever since I went to my first concert ever, Kik Tracee, in Portland, Oregon, and saw Rob Grad rub his crotch on the female in front of me's hand, I knew that I wanted to grow up and become a rawk stah.
Not, uh, because I wanted to rub my no no spot on audience members limbs, but because as a rock star, not only do you get to pour your heart out to people in your music, but you can get away with things that you normally can't in a public forum, and actually be considered 'cool' because of it.
or, uh.. something like that.
-Aubrey

Matt Kramer (Saigon Kick) 1st solo c.d. (Had 2 of them signed)
I own every Saigon Kick cd and single and also bought the Matt Kramer/ George Lynch cd just because Matt Kramer is the fucking man.
There is no MK fan like me. Some people liked Nirvana and some people liked Pearl Jam. I liked Saigon Kick. Eddie Vedder and Kurt Cobain are nothing compared to the voice of Matt Kramer. Please pick me and lemme get that cd boyeeeeeeee. Thank You
- David Aaron

Why do I want to win the CD? Because, just like you, I can't let go of my late '80s/early '90s glam rock background. I lay in bed at night wondering what ever happened to members of my favorite bands and then I hit your site where I find the answers to many of my questions. I caught Saigon Kick early in their major label career opening for Ratt in Cleveland. I remember being both frightened and in awe of Matt Kramer. My friend and I thought he was a mix of Charles Manson and Perry Farrell and we thought that at any moment he'd jump out into the audience and kill the both of us. A few years later i had a chance to talk to Matt after a show in Columbus and he was a really nice, mellow guy. Not at all the way I thought he would be. Over the years I've heard that Saigon Kick has try to reform (without Jason Bieler) but things never seem to take off. I had no idea what happened to Matt Kramer until I read the interview on your site. I'd love to hear his solo stuff.
-Chip Midnight

DOPE 6-Song Sampler for Group Therapy (Had 7 of these to give away)
"Hey, I really wanna win the new group therapy sampler because I have been a true fan/supporter/believer in dope since before their first show in NYC at the elbow room back in '98. Ever since the day I got my hands on their first demo tape and put it in my tape player I was blown away after hearing shit life. I was at dope's first show ever and was blown away with their live show as well. Ever since that first show I went to every NYC club show they played after that until they went on third fist national tour with Orgy. Every time dope comes out with new material I just become more of a dope fan then I already was before. They are the best band out there, their live shows and their ability to get the their fans into what they are doing is amazing. They are true to what they do and are very talented individuals. It's been awhile since I have heard new dope material and I am in need of some "group therapy" from the dope boys. I hope this email convinces you and thanks for your time. "
Fuck you. I Am What I AM!"
- Kev Dope

"I think I should win this dope cd becauseeeeeee I have nothing to say that you haven't heard a million times.  And that makes me cool.  Because I won't bore you on how much I love Dope, and how much the drummer Racci Shay Hart has helped me more than life itself by inspiring me to play drums, which have followed to bring me many great things so far, and it's helped make my life so much better alright.  I also won't tell you that Dope gives me the extra :oomph: in the morning to kick my ass out of bed and get me on my feet.... EVERY MORNING.  And don't forget, I won't bore you by telling you they're my favorite band.  I also won't tell you that I have a huge collage on the biggest wall of my room, of every clipping I've found in almost every magazine for the past two years, and every poster I've stumbled across on eBay.  I think I should get this not only because I won't tell you all of this and I won't bore you with my uncanny fixation with Dope, but rather I'll just make this as short as possible, and tell you that I should win this, because I, simply stated to waste none of your time, I love this band more than life itself."
- Jessica Smith

"Hey, loved your review of the new Dope album. I have been checking out www.dopearmy.com frequently, but nothing new ( other than the tour dates ). Tonight I was flipping through the stations and heard the last 5 seconds of "I am", by Dope.. I thought, hey, wait.. that must be new, haven't heard that title before. So I googled around and found your website. Here's why you should send *ME* the cd!
I have been a Dope fan from the beginning. ( back when Zim Zum of Marilyn Manson was going to produce . ) I have a postcard from Edsel and Simon along with their very first demo tape. And I am not from New York. Dope has been my "baby". I got to finally see the band for the very first time here in Phoenix, AZ. a couple of months ago and got to have Edsel sign my original first demo tape.
Also, when I was about 16 I had a band named "VoodooCrush" which is one of their songs that never got released ( from the first demo tape ). And on the internet, I always went by the name "VudooCrush".. I'm begging you please, I really think I deserve the cd!
  please please please!"
      Thanks - Josh Chaney

"I wanna win dope because i have followed these guys since before they got big.  I remember turning my
brother onto them as well as all my friends.  I remember listening to Sick until everyone else was
sick of it.  I had bought a CMJ that had there song Sick on it.  I played the shit out of that song, but
it was cool because I had other people asking me who it was.  All I ever heard was people telling me how
much these guys fucking rocked and thanks for showing them Dope.  I had to wait to get there first cd Felons
and Revolutionaries because it wasn't out yet and no one in my little town was going to carry it.  I had to
do everything in my power to get that first cd and I still had to wait.  Bottom line is I'm one of Dope's
biggest fans and have been anticipating every album.  I can't take the wait!!!!  I'm not sure but I think
this cd is essential to my survival.  I really want this cd!!  I live for rock.  Especially live rock, but
I haven't gotten a chance to see them live so I need to own and play the shit out of there cd's.  I get
weird stares from people when I drive around blaring my music, but I don't care because I fucking love it.
I always hope to pass a band in my town while I'm doing this because I want to think that they look at
each other and say, "Hey, that guy FUCKING ROCKS!!!"  I hope it's Dope too.  All I have left to say is that
music is a big part of my life and I wouldn't love rock as much as I do if I never heard Dope.  These
guys are a major pillar in my life.  I hope these guys never stop because part of me would die."
-Steve Rivas

"Well I will keep this short and sweet.  DOPE is by far my favorite band. They have a style all their own and have songs and lyrics that everyone can relate to everyone in one way or another.  I attend Every DOPE concert that is in my area, and since I am from a small town, "in my area" usually means driving on average 2-4 hours to see them.  I am soo excited that their new cd is coming out and will be waiting by the door to get it on oct. 21.
So basically I want to win so I can hear some new songs,
add more DOPE memorbilia to my collection, and rock out to the cd and spread the word about DOPE!!!!"
\m/.....Peace
- Renee Shartle

LYNCH / PILSON C.D.:

"I was there ! I was there back in the day...rockin' with Dokken! I remember sitting in our old basement practice spot, drinking Miller High Life quarts and playing Alone Again!! I remember pushing my way to the front row at the '88 Monsters of Rock Tour with my "Lynch is God"  banner and throwing it on stage!...I was there...I wanna be there again...." -Chip Guesman
After winning Chip sent this in:

"I the skinny guy on the left! This was June of '88 the Day the M.O.R. tour hit Pittsburgh!
That banner ended up on stage!"
