J-You are also
singing in Adlers Appitite w/Steven Adler.. who else is in that band.. and how
did you hook up with him?![]() Jizzy-Me, Keri and Robbie of course, the so-called "band whores"...I call it being a working musician. Brent Muscat is also in the band and of course Steven. J-What happened to the name Suki Jones? Jizzy-I found that promoters weren't smart enough to promote the band as Suki Jones--they were extremely vague about who was in the band and what we were doing. Sometimes Steven's name was not even on the flyer, there was no mention of Guns 'n' Roses in the ads---Adler's Appetite is a G'nR cover thing, some people might think the name is goofy but you know exactly what you're getting. I'm writing songs right now for an all-original CD with this line-up and we won't be calling it Adler's Appetite...we might call it Suki, I don't know J-Your also been touring w/them.. how is that going..? Jizzy-Tours in Europe have been
great...tours here in the States are hit and miss but I think you could say that
for every band in our genre. You can't keep beating these clubs to death every
year, year after year without the attendance suffering J-What's the set list like.. all GNR or other covers too? Jizzy-Yeah mostly G'n'R...that's what people want to hear, especially overseas where they haven't heard these songs played in a long time. J-Favorite GNR song you do live? Jizzy-I don't know...they're all good. J-Even with allll these bands.. and playing live, writing etc. you just released your first solo cd... "Just a Boy", How long have you been working on the cd? Jizzy-I worked on it for 2 years, on and off. Muddy helped me with the production, he's a very talented guy--we recorded and mixed the whole thing in his bedroom which begs the question " why would anyone pay thousands of dollars to make a record when all you need is Protools?" J-How would you describe
the music to someone who hasnt heard it yet? Jizzy-Good. J-What's your favorite track? Jizzy-"Better days" is my favorite song off that record. For some reason it always makes me feel good when I hear it. J-Least favorite , or didn't turn out like you wanted? Jizzy-There's always stuff you wish you could do better...I thought the same way on the L./H records and they each cost $250,000 to make... J-Will you be touring for this release? Jizzy-Hopefully I'll be playing songs off that record in some of my other working bands but a solo tour? No...
J-Did you do all the
writing? and who all plays on the cd?
Jizzy-Other than one song I wrote the whole thing. Several guest guitar players are on it, most notably Steve Stevens and Tracii Guns. J-Planning on releasing
more solo cd's? Jizzy-I'm planning on releasing this new project, call it Suki Jones for now, I'm actively writing songs for it right now-- J-What else do you have planned for the rest of 2004? Jizzy-Touring through most of this summer with Adler and RATT and then hopefully working on a project with a television production company with my books that will make me a lot of $$$---fingers crossed on that one. J-How do you feel about mp3's and file sharing?
J-How about the internet in general.. as far as promoting bands..etc?
Jizzy-It's good for self promotion
definitely but people take it's power too seriously...a website isn't going to
get you a record deal or help you write better songs...or help you sell coffee
mugs.
J-Do you have a site people can keep up with all your info? Jizzy- WWW.JIZZYPEARL.COM J-Any new bands your into.. ? Jizzy-No...I don't like new music, I like good music like Zep and the Who. J-What would be in your cd player right now? Jizzy-Radiohead... J-Thats about it.. anything you would like to say to youe fans reading this? Jizzy-Eat right, exercise regularly and you're still going to die---so fuck it-- live a little.
