BRET MICHAELS
SHOW ME YOUR HITS- A SALUTE TO POISON

By Spidey

Review: Oh my god.. can you say horrible. I'm surprised I'm even adding this review to the reviews.. since I dislike it so much, but yet, I'm a huge Poison/ Bret Michaels fan, but I don't know what the hell he was thinking, first off.. who the hell is slaughtering these songs, it doesn't even tell you know is playing on the songs, most of them sound like local bands, in rehearsal trying to play around and do a Poison song... are you getting my point about not liking the c.d.... BUT when Bret starts singing on some of the songs, it gets better, like "Fallen Angel", "Something to Believe In" is basically the songs in just a different format, slowed down, bluesy.. etc. What I don't understand is why Bret didn't just release a c.d. of him redoing Poison songs on his own, w/guest players on it.. this isn't a "Salute to Poison" when the singer is singing most the songs...LOL.. ok.. I need to stop before I make a bunch of fans mad... also maybe if there was a track listing telling me who was playing what.. I could get excited cause they are jamming together.. but nooooooo... anyway, Poison fans I'm sure will pick this up, cause they are hardcore.. especially Bret fans.. but if your looking for a "tribute album" .. skip this one....

Favorite Song: "Something to Believe In" slower, piano, great bluesy guitar in the background.. good version. "Tell Me Why".. cool version, just wish I knew who Bret was singing with..

Least Favorite Song: "Talk Dirty To Me".. skip. "I Want Action".. aaahhhh no.. it's Bret trying to be Nine Inch Nails.... next. "Unskinny Bop" or "Cock" as Pauly Shore sings on here.. unbelievable.

Booklet: No. The cover is nice, cause it's a hot chick.. but NO.. these is no track listing of who is playing what.. just a thanks w/some bands listed... (so does that meant they are friends, or played on the c.d.?) and one pic of Bret on the back.. from a million years ago...
