Review: I was kinda worried about reviewing this one, I'm a huge Bret fan, have been since I was a kid.. but I didn't really like his first solo c.d. "A Letter from Death Row" .. so I was a little hesitant about this one.. Till I popped it in, this is better then even the last Poison c.d... it's full of up tempo fun party rock music.. songs about his new baby girl, to cheating ex-girlfriends, to just wanting to party and have a good time, the ballads are always Bret's strong points.. and this c.d. doesn't fall short on ballads, "Forgiveness" has a Bon Jovi type story line.. "Raine" is about his daughter, "Songs of Life" is about life in general... but I think one of the best songs I've ever heard from Bret is "Stay With Me" .. story line like "Something to Believe In" almost like a part 2.. but just sends chills down me every time I hear it.. For all the Poison fans this is the best Poison album, that wasn't, and for Bret fans, this is some of his best work yet.. when good ol' rock is missing from the radio waves.. Bret stays true to his roots.. and to his fans!
Favorite Song: Love "Menace to Society".. great first choice for opener.. just kicks you into the album.. Also love the ballads "Stay With Me" (extra track), "Forgiveness" and "Songs of Life" all the other mid-tempo rockers are good too.. these just stick out in my head...
Least Favorite Song: "It's My Party".. sometimes I'm in the mood for it.. sometimes it bugs me.
Booklet: Awesome.. about 10 pages.. and FULL of pictures.. and they are all new ones, not same ol' Poison ones.. even has a shot of his wrecked car, and his messed up face from it.. also has a ton of thanks and cd credits.. perfect cover..
