ELECTRIC ANGELS
S/T

By Ryan Lane

Review: I picked this disc up in a bargain bin at a cd store just because I liked the look of the band. I had never heard of them before. Man I got my $2.00 worth and more! These guys are great! I believe they're a band from England, and as far as I know, this is the only cd that they released. Great lyrics and great musicianship. Good, solid hard rock with sing along melodies. Every time I listen to this disc, I can't get the songs out of my head for days. They might well have had a good run in the 80's, but this was released in 1990. I think they just missed the boat. Anyway, if you see this disc, pick it up. You won't be disappointed.

Favorite Tracks: "Live in the City"; "Head Above Water"; "Whiplash"; "The Drinking Song"

Least Favorite Tracks: "Cars Crash"

Booklet: Just a big picture of the lead singer Shane and some notes. Wish there was more.

Fan reviews:

Hi,
Just read the review of the above and it brought back great memories, the band are from New York and changed their name to the Loveless and released one album about three years later.
The album wasn't similar to the Electric Angels, but was equally melodic and overall a better album.
Keep up the good work with site.
Chris - Liverpool, England.

Just wanted to let you know that the lead singer, bassist and drummer went on to form a band called "The Loveless"
and released at least one album on Perris Records called "A Tale Of Gin And Salvation".
Another excellent album and well worth getting if you can find it.

Electric Angels were originally from LA, starting from the fall-out of
their first band, CANDY (featuring Gilby Clarke and Kyle Vincent).
CANDY released one album on Polygram, 1985's WHATEVER HAPPENED TO FUN?
before breaking up. Guitarist Ryan Roxie went on to Alice Cooper's
band, and the band changed their name to THE LOVELESS, releasing one
more cd, A TALE OF GIN AND SALVATION. Songwriter Jonathan Daniel now
manages Butch Walker and others.
Thought you should know

WOW! Brings back some really fun memories from 1990.
I saw this band as the opening act for The Black Crowes and LA Guns(if memory serves me right)
approximately 8 times from Boston to DC and everywhere in between.
I'm going to have to dig through my old LPs and cassettes to see if I can find them.
They rocked! Thanks for the flashback!
