POWERQUEST
NEVERMORE

By Ryan Lane

Review: This is some great melodic power metal. Strong songwrighting, and experienced musicians give this cd that professional, polished sound. It sounds like these musicians have a lot of classic rock influnences, but are still able to make it fresh sounding. Some of the music had hints of Triumph, Styx, and Journey. They also sounded kind of like TNT. I think the Styx reference was from the keyboards. They have a similar tone. This is one of those cd's where I think that there's too much double bass coming from the drummer, but everything else outshines it and makes me forget how annoying that is.

Favorite Tracks: "Neverworld"; "Temple of Fire"; "For Evermore"

Least Favorite Tracks: "When I'm Gone"; "Into the Light"
