Linda Nunez - S/T
Review: I
expected for this to be a little harder than what it is. It's pretty
light. There's some very good songwriting on here, and the music is
pretty good, but not exactly my cup of tea. She's got a nice voice, and
I have to admire her for doing what she wants to do, with the passion
that she does it. This is a good mix of melodic light rock, acoustic,
spanish (Santana type stuff), and even a live track. I would imagine
that she is a decent live performer. Someone you would go see at your
local bar and have a good time.

Tokyo Rose
Review: I'm not sure where this came from,
but it needs to go back. This is some sort of Japanese pop band that is
caught in a time warp. Picture this. The year is 1985. The band is Tokyo
Rose and they are traveling across the states playing small clubs hoping
that someday they will get discovered and write the next big "one hit
wonder"! Sorry, I'm being sarcastic. This is horrible.

But Not Forgotten - S/T Review: This is a female fronted punk/metal band out of New Jersey. The band also consists of all Hispanic-American members, but all the songs are sung in English. I had no idea that this was a female lead singer while listening to it until I read their bio. She has a gutteral scream that rocks! I love the attitude and passion that this band evokes. The band is tight and have pretty good songs. My only problem with this disc is the production quality. It seemed way too bass heavy which made other parts not come through as well. All in all, a very good offering. I would like to see more from this band. Favorite Tracks: "Shotgun Wedding"; "Six Feet is Too Deep(For You)"; "My Fall Turn Gray" Least Favorite Tracks: "Instru-mental" By Ryan Lane |

September Drive - The Missing Lines Review: Based on the cd package and bio that was sent with this disc, I was kind of looking foward to giving this a listen. This is a common case of looks can be deceving. While the songwriting and musicianship are pretty good, I couldn't get past the vocals. Sounded to me like they were out of tune through most of the disc, and that is unacceptable in my book. The emotion is there, but the pipes are not. You need both to get ahead in the music biz. The music is what I like to call MTV reality music. In other words, the kind of stuff you hear in the background on shows like Real World or Laguna Beach. Poppy, catchy, type stuff. If you like that kind of music, and can get past the vocals, then this is for you. Favorite Tracks: Like I said, most of the music is catchy and quite good, but I can't get past the vocals. Least Favorite Tracks: Same as above. By Ryan Lane |

GasHead - Knuckles Avec Sombreros Review: This is some of the best music I've ever heard. Megadeth meets Joe Satriani. Heavy tight riffs with melodic soloing. This band does all instrumentals, but these are not just instrumentals. They're songs! There's a beginning, a middle, and an end. Great stuff! I couln't get over how talented these three guys are. They sound like they've been playing together for years. The music has a great groove to it, and the soloing is not overdone. It's just enough to make the songs sound great. I can't say enough good things about these guys! Favorite Tracks: All of them! Least Favorite Tracks: None of them! By Ryan Lane |

Falling - In Loving Memory
Review: Well I basically swore off unsigned bands, cause I just can't take it anymore, along with the fact I have over 200 c.d.'s sitting in front of me to review.. makes it hard to "like" anything... but this one caught my attention.. at first I thought Gavin from Bush started a new band ..Brian Furguson sounds JUST like him... Anyone who likes the alternative sound.. straight ahead and raw will love this c.d... I know I do.. and I can't wait to dig more into the story line and lyrics on the bio and website.. Everyone should check them out.. Kudos guys... Favorite track.. All of them.. Least Favorite track.. None of them.. By J Rock |
