Blind Rhetoric - Clockwork
Review: This
is an alternative rock band out of
Baltimore, Maryland. While I found the music to be a bit lighter
than I like, I did find it somewhat enjoyable. What I did like was the
lyric writing, almost poetic. This is not something that rocks out, or
something that I would listen to, but I do give them props for good
lyric writing, and musical arranging. Keep up the hard work guys!

Neurothing - Vanishing Celestial Bodies
Review:
Here's a Polish metal band with more screaming! AAAARRRGGGHHHH! At least
the music on this one is more enjoyable than some I've heard, but that
screaming. The screaming on here is not quite as annoying as some, but
it can be just as bad.

The Rick Ray Band - Temporary World
Review:
Progressive rock sucks! Maybe I just don't get it, but I have never been
able to get into progressive rock. Did I just hear an oboe playing on
that last track? His bio seems to play him up as a pretty big act, and
he has opened for lot's of big name groups, but I don't understand how.
The music just doesn't go anywhere, and the recording seems lame and
muddled.

Arthur Kill - Addiction
Review: This
is exactly what should be playing on your radio right now. I had this in
my car for a month straight, and never got tired of it. Heavy
alternative rock with a rhythm section that stays heavy, but has a pop
feel to it. This could be an awesome rock show to go to, or it could be
playing in a dance club. I know that sounds weird to say that about
music this heavy, but I can't explain it any other way. What a great
feeling you get when listening to this. Another unsigned band that
should be signed and be promoted out the ass. Your missing out if you
don't hear this disc!
Favorite Tracks:
All of them but one
Least Favorite
Tracks: "Honestly" - don't know what happened here, but I didn't
care for this. It didn't seem to fit the flow of the whole disc

Lake of Falcons - S/T
Review: This
is a little different. Kind of punk, kind of indie rock. Some of it grew
on me and I liked it, but some of it I didn't care for. Maybe just not
my cup of tea, but I got to respect them for doing their own thing and
doing it pretty well. The music rocks for the most part. The tempo can
,and will, change at will which might make it feel disconnected, but
they seem to be able to pull it off and make it flow.

Nebula - Apollo
Review: If
you are looking for some loose rock with some old school fever, then
check these guys out. Formed in 1997 from former members of Fu Manchu,
they have released several discs and done some major touring with lots
of big names from the Seattle scene. The music is loose and flowing, but
the band is tight. It reminds me of old classic rock groups like Cream,
but also reminds me of early Nirvana. Classic soul!

Mind Gone Blind - World of Lies
Review: This
is a rock band from Scotland that seems to have a pretty good idea of
good songwriting. While this is not the kind of music I generally listen
to, I did find it enjoyable. Catchy lyrics and music make it a fun disc
to listen to. The song "Blind Faith" is a beautiful, quiet song that
really makes you listen and love. These guys should keep doing what
they're doing.

Revile - The Moment in
Review
Review: This
is some modern rock from a band based out of Dublin City, Ireland. It
does have a bit of that Irish feel to it. While they seem to be pretty
good at writing songs and playing music, this was not something that I
cared for. There just didn't feel catchy enough to appeal to a mass
audience. But then again, maybe that's not what they were going for. If
you like this kind of music, it might be for you, but not for me.

Comeg - Savage
Review:
According to his bio, Comeg seems to be pretty well regarded in England
where he's from. I don't see how this could be. This disc sucks! Maybe I
just don't get the Indie music scene from England, but I couldn't find
anything enjoyable about this disc. The music is lame, and his voice is
annoying. It sounds like he's trying to rip off late Beatles music, but
he's not even coming close. To use his name in the same review as the
Beatles makes me sick to my stomach.

Dame Fortune - Both
Sides of Midnight
Review:
Dame Fortune describes themselves as goth rock that rocks out a little
more. I think they fall short of their mark. Most of the disc is just
O.K. in my book. The guitars rock pretty well and have some good
grooves, but the songwriting and vocals could be better. I'm not
saying that they're awful, just not as good as they could be. The
singers seem like they are trying too hard, and the arrangement and
recording feel like it's missing that punch that it should have. There
is one cool song on here called "Midnight Radio" that could be a great
rock anthem, if it was recorded by somebody else.

Underride - Necessary Evil
Review: These
guys are the best kept secret out there. No question about it. This has
been playing in my car for 3 weeks straight! A masterpiece! Perfect!
Hard, heavy, gritty rock, that's at home in today's music, but still has
a little bit of old school metal mentality. It has that sensual,
sexual feeling of old metal, but it's still straight ahead rock. No
ballad's on here my friend. You get all metal for your money, and they
leave you wanting more. A total package. This disc was released in 2004,
and they have released another EP since then. They are currently writing
and recording their next disc, and I can't wait to get a hold of more of
their stuff. My new favorite unsigned band!!!!!!!!

SOS - A Guide to Better Living
Review: This
Brooklyn based band has been around for a decade and their experience
shows in this offering. 17 tracks of hardcore/punk/rock music. This is a
band that writes and plays the music they want to, and don't care what
anybody thinks. They know that they've released something they like and
enjoy playing. You have to admire that. The song "Star Killers" features
the line "And I won't give a fuck when this song never makes it to the
radio". I love lines like that! This would be a great band to see live.
What energy!

One Bad Son - This Aggression Will Not Stand
Review:
This is a great offering from a group who appears to be from Canada.
There wasn't a bio with this disc, so I had to get some info from their
website. By the way, fantastic website - check it out! Anyway the music
on here is kicking! Hard, heavy riffs and downright good songwriting.
There are only two things that keep this disc from being getting a five
star rating in my book. First of all, I didn't care for the slow songs.
Nothing got me into them like the faster songs. Second, the singer is
good, but not great. His timing and pitch seem to be off occasionally.
This can make you feel like you're listening to something different.
Otherwise, some great music!

RadioVipers - The Morning Sunburst
Review: This is one of those
discs that I only kind of liked when I first listened to it, but now I
love! The music is probably more at home in the 80's than today. If
you're a fan of that genre, and you want some new, fresh stuff, then
pick this up. One thing that I like about this band is the fact that
they didn't go for the "rock ballad". All of the songs are straight
ahead rock and roll. Great songs and musicianship. A total package! This
disc also features a remake of Guns and Roses' "It's So Easy". Pretty
good version too!
